The Falcon is the Caldari Force Recon; An amped, Covert Ops-cloaking Blackbird with higher jam strength but with a lower range.

The Falcon is weak and incapable, but in a gang it can be the force multiplier: able to shut down up to five ships. Do not fly a Falcon if you like appearing high on killmails; do fly if you enjoy infuriating your targets.

Fitting weapons is ill-advised, there are more useful modules to put in high slots and the powergrid is better used elsewhere. Always be aligned - don't wait until something is shooting you to warp off - get out the moment you're locked on and miss a jam.

To save you rich bastards a bit of isk, the meta 4 of Signal Distortion Amplifiers, 'Hypnos' Signal Distortion Amplifier I, is half the price of the Tech 2 variant in our current space with the same effects and a bit less CPU. Dread Guristas or Thon's multispecs are nice for a 5th/6th jammer if you want to bling out your falcon. They give you almost racial strength and even the officer ones aren't that expensive (like 70mil).

If you fly a Falcon in a covert hotdrop gang, 'DO NOT EVER FIT ARMOR PLATES' or you will make the BlackOps pilots very mad at you.

This is a fairly standard Falcon fit. All of the high slots aside from the the cloak are considered utility slots and you can put what you want in there. Reps are nice when you're operating away from a station where you can dock and repair. Many people will go to best named ECM (same strength) and fit a combat probe launcher; I've done this but have never found it terribly useful since I don't normally fit tackle. The rigs also leave some room for adjustement: this fitting gives you 14.8 (16.5 overheated) jam strength at max skills, which is enough to be stronger than the 2x PDP2 rig variant out to like 85km. At engagement ranges beyond that, the 2x PDP2 rig variant comes into its own. T2 ECM rigs are less than 20m isk as of this writing, which is reasonable for a 100m isk hull; If you're poor, naturally T1 rigs can be substituted..

For a universal jammer loadout, go with 2 caldari jammers and one each of the others. Caldari ships have high sensor strength and if you encounter a hostile falcon it comes down to who jams who first. If you know you're quick on the GTFO button you can drop the shield extender for a 6th jammer.

Most people will quickly find that the plated Falcon aligns too slowly and caps out on longer warps meaning it can't keep up with a fast moving gang, plated Falcons are also much more vulnerable when jumping into a bubbled gate due to their lower top speed and greater align time. Also, if you are going through a Black Ops bridge a plate will use up a lot more fuel than an LSE. Here's a generic armor varient.

Carry two each of the best named or T2 ECM modules in your cargohold and swap them out in the mids if you know what the threat is. All high slots with the exception of the covops cloak are utility slots, suggestions include: medium remote armor repairer, covert cynogen, or an expanded probe launcher + combat probes.

Falcons aren't as great as they used to be when they could snipe at 200km but they are still the most welcome Recon ship in a black ops gang, this setup requires Recon Ships V unless you want to juggle turning your probe launcher on and off. Do not fit offensive modules in your utility high slots.
