Nullsec Politics 101

Nullsec politics at the best of times are very difficult to understand. Coalitions can be made or broke in days and the whole political landscape is very fluidic.

Summary For Newbros

This is a short summary of what's currently happening right now. This should be updated frequently.

EVE is now in a very interesting time. Many old players from Test describe the current state of politics in EVE as “something like the Twilight Zone”. There are two super powers left in EVE, N3 and the CFC. CFC and N3 are called coalitions (a coalition is a group of alliances) and they are far more powerful than any other group in EVE. N3 controls the East side of the map and CFC controls the West. Both of these coalitions have many other alliances which are allied with them as well.

War between the CFC and N3 began when N3 attacked Wagon (A mainly Russian Coalition that hangs around the South side of the map). CFC joined the war on the side of Wagon and the result was The Halloween War. If you're new chances are you've heard of B-R, the largest battle in Video game history. B-R5RB. The result of N3 losing this battle lead to N3 losing a large amount of their space and being forced to almost retreat. So you may be saying the CFC won the war. Well… not really, because they left after that. They decided to go back to their own space and let Wagon finish N3 off. This was a mistake, as N3 took back all of their space and took all of Wagons space as well.

This is where you come in newbro. Test joined up with HERO, a new coalition, and with a lot of luck and some good friends on the side of N3 we've taken the Region of Catch. Catch is now our home, as we wait for N3 and CFC to have the final war which will decide the future of EVE. Or they might just decay, I don't know we'll just have to find out.

TDLR: MAKE SURE YOUR OVERVIEW WORKS CORRECTLY AND FOLLOW THE FUCKING PRIMARY THE FC CALLS FOR

So you want to know more about Null Sec politics? You poor bastard. The following is a detailed explanation of the whos and whys of Null Sec

The Combat Blocs

These are the major military powerblocs in New Eden, be it either nullsec, lowsec, or highsec pirate groups.

HERO

RIP HERO

The Clusterfuck Coalition (CFC)

While at one time un-officially part of the larger Northern Coalition, the Clusterfuck Coalition stands today as a major power block in Eve Online. Formed by Goonswarm with founding members Test Alliance Please Ignore and Tactical Narcotics Team.

Originally setup as method to defend Deklein (hence it is sometimes referred to as the 'Deklein Coalition' or 'DekCo') it has seen its scope expand to active duty outside the region with the recent successful invasions of Cloud Ring and Fountain. With the fall of the Northern Coalition the Clusterfuck took a major interest in Fade & Pure Blind installing Fatal Ascension as guardian of Fade and expanding the roles of formerly smaller alliances Get Off My Lawn, SpaceMonkey's Alliance and Fidelas Constans in the Pure Blind region. They are the most red thing in the game, you should shoot them over anything else unless the FC says so.

Wagon

“Wagon” is the name given to the collection of alliances that have held the southern regions for quite some time. Stain Empire is one of the oldest alliances in the game and have held sovereignty in the systems around Stain probably since their formation.

Other members of this loose bloc are Against All Authorities, C0ven, RED.Overlord, and Cascade Imminent. In recent times Stain Empire and C0ven have reset Against All Authorities and their allies in the face of the DRF invasion. This was a “soft reset” and they are not actively engaging in sov warfare against -A-.

N3

Controls most of the eastern side of the map along with their allies Pandemic Legion (PL). N3 and PL are such butt buddies that people sometimes refer to them as N3/PL like they're one coalition. The main alliances in N3 are Nulli Secunda, Northern Coalition., and The Kadeshi. However a number of smaller alliance are also in N3. Like most coalitions N3 has a renter alliance known as Northern Associates. N3 doesn't hate us, some can argue that they actually like us as they've helped us grind the Catch region so H.E.R.O. can have it.They've also been an ally to test frequently throughout history. However they are neutral to us and feel free to shoot them as they enjoy good fights as much as us. CFC and N3 are in the middle of a cold war.

Pandemic Legion

Pandemic Legion is sometimes referred to as a coalition by fucking retards. The reason for this might be because of the alliance Waffles being blue to them and sorta acting as a feeder corp for PL. They also have the influence of a coalition due to having more super capital ships and super capital pilots then any other group in EVE. They own the Northeast side of the map where they run a renter alliance called Brothers of Tangra. Once again CFC does hate PL but they signed a coward agreement with them know as the BOTLORD agreement, which says that PL can't take CFC home sov and CFC can't take PL sov. H.E.R.O has no standings with them so feel free to shoot them but have a fun time dying because PL has more bitter veterans and High Skill point characters then almost anybody in EVE.

Providence (Provi)

Curatores Veritatis Alliance (CVA) forms the core of the Providence bloc, named as they control the Providence region. The bloc consists of several NRDS alliances that also live in the region. They are loosely aligned with Against All Authorities. They have set most alliances in the game to red, but normal players not part of a major coalition are free to move through their space. Provi has set us to red. We have them at neutral. Shoot them and annoy them as much as possible because “they drew first blood.”

Past Test Conflicts
Catch Grind 2014

After being a space hobo alliance for over half a year, Test finally joined a coalition again. On March 7th HERO was formed from alliances Brave Collective, Spaceship Samurai, Nexus Fleet and of course Test. Nexus Fleet would leave within the month to rejoin N3 unfortunately. HERO had originally been hired by an opsec person to annoy the residents of Catch, Against All Authorities, and the local CFC which were stationed there to help fight the Halloween War. Only a short time into the deployment, Stain Wagon the coalition controlling Catch began to fall apart. HERO took advantage of this by changing objectives. The new goal was for HERO to capture all of Catch and make it home. Against all Authorities faced with their coalition falling apart was only able to put up a slight defense. HERO found itself left with grinding many defenseless systems and would spend the next 3 months grinding sov. The famous and strategic system HED-GP saw one of the only large battles during the deployment, ally of -A- SOLAR FLEET attempted to stop HERO fleets from taking the system but N3 lent a hand in the form of a ridiculous number of capital ships. Most of HERO considered -A- defeated following the capture of their capital in GE-8JV. Overall most of the deployment was considered by Test to be boring but at the same time important. Most fun was had from slight resistance from CFC during March and the beginning of April and later small gang pvp vs N3 towards the end. We curbed stopped -A- so good fight. Catch now belongs to HERO(Thanks N3)

Fountain 2013

Goonswarm Federation has decided, with the blessing of The Mittani to take Fountain after calculating in one of the SOTG that their income would only last another year in peacetime.

Initially it started with o7m8 space being gifted to Clusterfuck Coalition as a gift from Sort Dragon. Pandemic Legion and Nulli Secunda were helping out early in the battles with capital ship support. PL had to leave to practice for Alliance Tournament XI, and Nulli had to return to their home systems to defend their sovereignty. Once that happened, CFC abused their cap superiority to wipe Fountain of evidence of TEST.

The war came to a head in the symbolic home of TEST, 6VDT-H, when the station's shield timer went up. Goons took the field first and bubbled it with many Megathron fleets. TEST brought prophecies led by the the Strat FCs that were available. Once all was started, over 4000 subcaps were on the field. The battle was waged in <1% time dilation, and lasted many hours. Fire commands were ignored, and the cancel firing redboxes continued for minutes after the cycle finished. Early on the results were uncertain, but as the battle was waged and the fight continued. TEST lost the field that day.

In the State of the Alliance broadcast that night, BoodaBooda stated that it was a show of force, that we are a strong alliance that will not back down from a fight. TEST then redeployed to NOL-M9.

The CFC's next move was uncertain, but after securing Fountain, it was made clear that CFC intended to take Delve as well. TEST responded by getting the hell out of there and moving to Aridia.

After a couple weeks of regrouping and reforming the alliance in Soliara and the rumored TESTagon, TEST moved once again, this time to Curse, to be based out of G-0Q86.

Delve 2012

Initially started as Pandemic Legion and Test Alliance Please Ignore looking for goodfights (combat without sov warfare) in Delve against Nulli Secunda and various other residents at the time. Unhappy with the smack talk on various forums and the “blobbing” by PL and TEST nulli called in other fiendly alliances to assist with the battles.

Over the course of a few days the conflict escalated with the majority of the Clusterfuck Coalition deploying down to Delve to assist PL and TEST. In response Against All Authorities and Nulli Secunda formed the Sothern Coalition (SoCo) to defend Delve.

Combat operations lasted about two weeks with SoCo taking several large losses, the regions of Delve, Querious, and Period Basis fell to the combined HBC/CFC fleets. The conflict is coming to a close with only -A- remaining and attempting to take the strategic system of 49-, the majority of the CFC have redeployed back north to protect their assets from Nulli Secunda.

Purging of IT

Gather around cause Pappa Skier told me a story

(6:17:08 PM) [email protected]/Jabber: was the biggest thing that happened before delve 2012 (6:21:16 PM) [email protected]/Jabber: test wasn't even on the radar (6:29:37 PM) [email protected]/Jabber: the campaign was managed by goons and it was pretty long and brutal

In early 2010, IT Alliance began their invasion of Delve. That didn't last very long. Not because either attacker or defender gave up, but because Goonswarm, along with a number of other alliances in EVE, weren't quite properly prepared for Dominion Sov rules. Goonswarm's wallet that the sov rent was extracted from didn't have enough funds. So a significant amount of Goonswarm sov dropped. Rather then deal with regaining their lost sov, keeping the alliance in one piece, and defending against IT alliance invasion, Goonswarm packed up their things and left, leaving IT to reclaim Delve and Querious as they pleased.

Goonswarm had disbanded, and the alliance was in the possession of an ex-CEO who wasn't all that keen on returning things to how they were. So for a period goons flew under the banner of SOLODRAKBANSOLODRAKBANSO. Eventually they were able to find themselve's some space in TCF space, and took the name Goonswarm Federation. Having allied themselves with Test and a few other ragtag alliances, they needed more space. Mostly to get Test out of their house so they could have a bit of room again. Fountain seemed like a great place for Test to settle down in. Goons built a series of jump bridges from Deklein to the borders of Fountain, and in early 2011 began the invasion in earnest.

At this time Fountain was not inhabited by IT Alliance. IT had filled it with renters. Blade., HUN Reloaded and others. As the invasion proceded, it soon became evident that not only were these renters unable to defend their space, but IT didn't really have much interest in doing so either. This proved to be the case, not because they were unconcerned, but because they were completely disorganized. The alliance leadership had fallen into a state of squabbling and backstabbing. All the corporation CEOs seemed to hate each other, nobody could agree on anything, and as such the alliance ineptly flung its military around without seeming to think things through properly. All of this came to light when The Mittani leaked the entire IT Alliance forums (again) for the world to see.

At this point some of the main IT Alliance corporations began to bleed away. Corporations that had been in BoB for years, such as Finfleet, stopped participating in fleets, and then eventually left the alliance entirely. After the siege of 6VDT-H, when the entire IT cap and supercap fleet was camped into system for four days, IT alliance lost all steam. As the Clusterfuck coalition rolled through Fountain, IT put up very little in resistance, resorting to “wolfpacks” and bomber gangs to try and slow the invaders.

The final announcement by SirMolle to evacuate Delve came with the Clusterfuck coalition having not set a single foot into Delve. In fact, after IT left Delve, it took months for all of their sov to fall (partially because PL was cruising the area taking what was worth taking so they could sell it, and leaving others to do the hard work).

Now the corporations that used to make up IT Alliance are scattered throughout the EVE universe. Cascade Imminent, Against All Authorities, Raiden., The Initiative., and many others, all harbour former IT corps.

Dead Groups

THESE GROUPS NO LONGER EXIST. DEAD SO DEAD THAT I HAD TO WRITE IT'S DEAD IN ALL CAPS DEAD SO DEAD THAT I HAD TO WRITE IT'S DEAD IN ALL CAPS

BOB (Band of Brothers)

At one time BOB controlled pretty much all of Null Sec. They did so with an iron fist and made sure to be a dick about it. Goons killed them though. They are usually referenced in one way or another and are an important part of EVE history.

For detailed info look here. EVE Wiki page on Band of Brothers.

The Honey Badger Coalition (HBC)

'Its Dead Jim'

Formed by the agreement between Test Alliance Please Ignore and Pandemic Legion for the invasion of Delve. The HBC expanded with the conquest of Delve to include Tribal Band and a few smaller alliances. The HBC had a good relationship with the CFC with most of its members sharing blue standings with the various CFC alliances.

OTEC (Organization of the Technetium Exporting Corporations)

OTEC was formed by the diplomatic efforts of Goonswarm Federation to include all groups with a interest in the technetium market. Current members include Goonswarm Federation, Test Alliance Please Ignore and Pandemic Legion.

Ev0ke sold their moons to the Goons after the CFC invaded the territory of NCdot. NC. was a former OTEC member but hostilities of both sides led to the invasion.

This group has managed to raise the average price of the Techninium market to over 170,000 ISK per unit, bringing a relative boom time due to the element's wide use in Tech 2 production.

HERO

RIP HERO

Super Old Test Conflicts

Updated info from an old bro would be awesome

The Mate Wars

A Northern Coalition. director was kicked out of Red vs. Blue for using a non-doctrine ship on a doctrine only week (RvB has themed combat weeks using only one or two types of ship), in the conversation following the director took the word “mate” as a extreme insult towards his sexuality. He then logged into his director alt and wardecced RvB.

RvB, being RvB decided to let go of their inter-alliane conflict and start fighting NC., afer a day or so Goonswarm Federation decided to join the conflict.

Geminate

BricK sQuAD. invaded and took hold in the Geminate region, The Northern alliances are currently attempting to remove them from the region and hand back control to Rolling Thunder.
