The Imicus is a slow but hard-shelled frigate, ideal for any type of scouting activity. Used by merchant, miner and combat groups, the Imicus is usually relied upon as the operation's eyes and ears when traversing low security sectors.

The Imicus is the Gallente survey frigate, as evidenced by its bonuses. If you enjoy scanning down enemy ships, the natural progression would be into the Helios. However, until you have Covert Ops 4 the Imicus will have a higher Core/Combat Scanner Probe strength due to the Helios bonus is based on your Covert Ops skill rather than Gallente Frigate.
