Rapier

Overview

The Rapier is a finesse ship and its capabilities are best employed in support of a small to medium-sized gang. With its webbing range bonus a Rapier can reduce a ship's maximum velocity by ~75% at ranges up to 40km before heat and gang warfare link bonuses are applied. Maximum DPS is about 170-180 and comes primarily from drones. Note that while the Rapier has pretty decent shields it has paper thin armor and hull so if you're taking hits you should be aligned as your shields hit 50% and warping out before they drop below 30% or you may find yourself in a pod.

Force recon ships are the cruiser-class equivalent of covert ops frigates. While not as resilient as combat recon ships, they are nonetheless able to do their job as reconaissance vessels very effectively, due in no small part to their ability to interface with covert ops cloaking devices and set up cynosural fields for incoming capital ships.

Core Complexion's ships are unusual in that they favor electronics and defense over the “lots of guns” approach traditionally favored by the Minmatar.

  • Cloak reactivation delay reduced to 5 seconds

Minmatar Cruiser bonuses (per skill level):

  • 10% bonus to Light Missile, Heavy Missile and Heavy Assault Missile damage
  • 10% bonus to Target Painter effectiveness

Recon Ships bonuses (per skill level):

  • 60% bonus to Stasis Webifier optimal range
  • 20% reduction in Cloaking Devices CPU requirement

If you only have Recon IV you'll need to swap out a low slot module for a Co-Processor in order to fit the probe launcher. A highly recommended upgrade for this ship is a faction warp disruptor since that allows you to tackle ships outside of heavy energy neutralizer range.

The Rapier's base scan resolution isn't so hot which gives enemies a chance to build up speed before your stasis webifiers take effect so this fit trades agility and about 10k EHP for ~600mm scan resolution.
