The Megathron is one of the best Gallente tech 1 ships. As a fleet sniper it was held back by its lack of an 8th turret but was still capable at the job and as a PvE ship its railguns and blasters simply aren't as good as the Domi's drones. Its true calling however came as the Blasterthron, packing a full set of Neutron Blaster Cannons the Megathron is a favourite choice for undock camping, bested only by tech 2 and faction ships (principally those based on the Megathron hull).

In a blaster brawl fleet, the Megathron's 8th high slot can be fit with a large remote armor rep for a wicked spider-tanking armor gang. Generally, I like the Large 'Solace' Remote Bulwark Reconstruction (meta 4) unit, as it takes 10 tf less CPU than the T2 variant, while maintaining the same power grid, range and repair amount. The trade-off is a half-second longer cycle time; meh.
