Exploration Ships And Fittings

Exploration can be done with almost any ship, as long as it has a high slot that can fit a Launcher. There is multiple support equipment that allows you to be more efficient, however.

Basic

Ship	1x Any ship with a launcher slot	A Probe Launcher is needed to scan down signatures. You need to be able to fit one
High slot	1x Probe Launcher	The main equipment to launch your Probes into space and start scanning
Ammunition	8x Scanner Probes	A minimum of 8 Scanner Probes are required to load a Probe Launcher and make it functional
Mid slot	1x Data Analyzer	Needed to hack and loot Data sites.
Mid slot	1x Relic Analyzer	Needed to hack and loot Relic sites.

High slot	Prototype Cloaking Device	Scanning is possible while being cloaked, which means you are much more secure during the scan part of Exploration. Make sure to launch your Probes before cloaking. Decreases your speed by 90% while active
High slot	Improved Cloaking Device	Scanning is possible while being cloaked, which means you are much more secure during the scan part of Exploration. Make sure to launch your Probes before cloaking. Decreases your speed by 75% while active
High slot	Covert Ops Cloaking Device	Scanning is possible while being cloaked, which means you are much more secure during the scan part of Exploration. Make sure to launch your Probes before cloaking. Does not affect speed while active
Mid slot	Afterburner	Higher speed is good
Mid slot	MicroWarpDrive	Higher speed is good
Mid slot	Cargo Scanner	Allows you to scan possible hacking targets to see if they are worth it
Mid slot	Scan Acquisition Array	Reduces the scan time by 10%(I) or 20%(II)
Mid slot	Scan Pinpointing Array	Reduces the scan deviation by 10%(I) or 20%(II)
Mid slot	Scan Rangefinding Array	Increases the scan strength by 5%(I) or 10%(II)
Low slot	Expanded Cargohold	Increases your cargo hold at the expense of speed and hitpoints
Rig	Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I	Increases scan strength by 10%. It is advisable to rather equip two Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I than any II
Rig	Small Emission Scope Sharpener	Increases virus health of the Relic Analyzer by 10(I) or 20(II)
Rig	Small Memetic Algorithm Bank	Increases virus health of the Data Analyzer by 10(I) or 20(II)

Ship fits

Heron

Good basic fit. You won't be able to do much with it besides Exploration, but you will be able to survive as long as you are careful.
