The Imperium is the rebranding of the old Clusterfuck Coalition. This rebranding happened during World War Bee as the coalition leader The Mittani decided that such a profane name as the Clusterfuck Coalition was hard to market on his gaming news website, themittani.com.

Thus the more roleplayeresque name of The Imperium got slapped on the coalition. Same old gang, brand new name. Not that bad of a idea, just look at that baller coalition logo. They also retired themittani.com and launched their new EVE-centric news site, the Imperium News Network (INN) at imperium.news.

Following their eviction of all their space in World War Bee, the newly rebranded Imperium managed to capture Delve from the small alliances that lived there and have lived there ever since, hunkering down and doing their own particular form of Empire Building. Which in this case, means krabbing like crazy and building as many Titans as they can mine.
