Kugs was kicked out of PL for leaking a State of the Legion, became dissatisfied with the PL moderators on Kugs for certain reasons that involved chatlogs or something and stripped them of modship, put some PL director threads in the restricted pay-for-access Foreplay section, had new non-PL moderators hired, had a huge nerdy slapfight with PL's Solo Drakban named Ander, briefly took back PL's web domain because he technically owned it, gave said domain back after some tense negotiations, and then published PL's forum. hep note: I'm not sure who did this writeup, pulled from our forums. Sorry anonymous goon, link your shit here if you read this.
Hratli Smirks wrote it and he (me!!!) is one of those new non-PL mods. The current PL “troll” is to state that Kugs threw his PL brosefs to the wolves in order to make money from Kugs.com Foreplay subscriptions and cuddled up with the goons because we raise thousands of dollars for server funds/paid Remedial a salary for being our space-CEO. Also, they hit Kugs with a shitload of scary legal threats for mirroring their forums and had some pretty funny sob threads on the PL forum (one of which is available in Kugutsumen.Com's Foreplay section!)

jm24 compiles a list of spy alts (for some reason PL thought was a good idea to leave the character names laying around their forums) and Querns is able to harvest a list of PL IP addresses. 60+ accounts in various alliances are burned as a result. Vio creams pants in excitement. This is significant because you can't just get new spy alts overnight, especially not on that scale (except possibly in renter corps). It takes a certain amount of SP, killboard history, and creative lieing to get into some of the larger alliances (and you need to fake at least some participation or risk getting purged). Also, having to now mask your IP adds a certain amount of irritation to the whole process.
