Imperial Legi0n (IMP-L) was formed over 9000 years ago by VW Iceman and DRDNought when they decided to get drunk and find a way to become semi-relevant to the politics of EVE. [citation needed]
IMP-L used to be a member of the NC, based out of A-QRQ3, and they controlled the pipeline between the Kalevala Expanse and Geminate, including LS-JEP (Though owned by RAGE) and two others between LS-JEP and A-Q. Being RAGE pets, they (We, I should say, as I was a member then) were tasked with keeping reds from coming out from BR-WhateverTheFuck (Lead to Russian space) and going into RAGE space through the pipeline. In theory, we were semi-successful. Being able to see reds as they came and went, we made sure to keep intel channels updated at all times.
However, we couldn't be bothered to quit ratting and mining.
Eventually (Read: 4 months later), IMP-L was kicked out of RAGE space and the NC as a whole because they didn't attend CTA's, and their efficiency dropped below allowable standards.
In December they moved to Immensea as Red Alliance pets. That's right, where before they were tasked with shooting the smelly 'ol Russkies, now they're guarding their space. Previously based out of the border system of E8-YS9 (I say “border” because it was sitting on the exact edge of Detorid where IEG was holding sov), they were later shunted over into Raiden. space in 3-L. I left shortly after this, because of their lack of motivation and their being content with having to shell out billions a month for rent instead of taking initiative.
TL;DR IMP-L is a space-taking alliance, doing nothing more than keeping your seat warm while you're out taking a shit and killing NC folk (Hence why Raiden. has them sitting in their space).
Of course, I could be a little bias.
