Battle of 36N-HZ; A Tale of Two Titans
At 11th of January, in the middle of the Winter War, a battle was fought in 36N-HZ. The opposing sides were the goons and Stainwagon versus the glorious forces of the Stainfraggin' Coalition led by TEST.
The spark that lit this battle were a TEST Titan moving itself and getting caught by a dictor bubble while warping to a POS tower from a citadel. Both sides of the warzone quickly started rageforming. “Titan tackled! Titan tackled!”
Attempts were made by TEST to free the tackled Titan but as goon capitals and subcaps were gaining the upper hand it quickly became clear that TEST were gonna lose a titan and suffer the following severe morale blow during the peak of a burning war. This was when Titans were still considered a rarity and TEST had precious few to lose.
But behold! l2azorclear managed to hit jump instead of bridge on his Titan and jumped it into system. For context, l2azor were a former stratFC of TEST who had been kicked a few months earlier for leaking intel and had stolen the very same Titan from our blues on his way out who he was brokering supercapital sales for at the time.
This changed things rapidly. Stainfraggin' Coalition quickly managed to land tackle on this waylaid bridge Titan and soon the good guys were shooting it into oblivion.
At the end, both Titans were dead and Stainfraggin' Coalition sat with roughly 164 billion ISK in losses while Stainwagon and goons had lost about 156 billion ISK worth in a titan and ships.
But the notable events of this battle doesn't end there.
As goons were trying to extract their supers and capitals, they soon found that their erstwhile allies -A- from Stainwagon had cynojammed the system they were planning to use for extraction.
As this delayed their extraction a little while, goon leadership were furious!
This soon became the rationalization for goons as to why they would extract themselves from the war completely which had not gone their way up to that point, leaving their valued allies Stainwagon to defend Catch and the rest of the South by themselves.
And so TEST won the war in part due to this battle and l2azorclears mistaken jump.
