Winter Nexus is an event held typically from early December to early January, and includes Volatile Ice Storms which feature Wightstorm Sites, Login Campaign, and the Winter Nexus Agency Challenge.

The Ice Fields can be found in the Probe Scanner window, without the need to scan them down. They have an acceleration gate which allows only the following ships:

• Venture, Endurance, Prospect, Covetor, Procurer, Retriever, Hulk, Mackinaw, Skiff, Badger, Bestower, Epithal, Hoarder, Iteron Mark V, Kryos, Mammoth, Miasmos, Nerues, Sigil, Tayra, Wreathe, Noctis, Bustard, Crane, Impel, Mastadon, Occator, Prorator, Prowler, Viator, and Porpoise.

Mine the Friable Volatile Ice, take them to the ORE Friable Volatile Ice Processor within the site, to trade 7 Ice for 1 ORE Red Salvage Package. Each site averages 25 crates worth of Ice. You also have a chance at obtaining an Unusual Icebound Salvage crate while mining, which has better loot and appears directly into your cargo, no need to turn anything in for these.

These data sites show as Cosmic Signatures in the Probe Window, and must be scanned down to access. Once scanned you can then warp to them. You will land 13-18km off a Cryptographic Array (Wingstorm Fleet) crate. Use a Data Analyzer on it and complete the mini game to unlock it for the rewards.

EVE University, Wingstorm Transit Site

The Wingstorm Transit Site can be found in the Probe Scanner window, without the need to scan them down. They have an acceleration gate, with no ship restrictions. If a capsuleer is present at the Transit Site it will appear in the Overview of every capsuleer in the same System.

Enemy ships can warp to tactical bookmarks and often target drones. They deal EM & Thermal damage with lasers, and Kinetic & Explosive damage with missiles, similar to their Incursion counterparts. A very well-tanked battleship is a must-have for the boss, which can and will shred you if you do not pilot well.

Standard PvE Marauder can run the sites fairly easily.
