==== Privateer Alliance ====

Privateer Alliance was founded in 2006-12-06.

Privateers were once the largest group of high-sec griefers in EVE. Due to their mass-wardec tactics they actually caused [[https://web.archive.org/web/20070419125953/http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=446|CCP to change the War mechanics]] to discourage en-mass wardecs and switch to a system where each successive wardec cost more (known as the anti-Privateers patch).

A few key corporations of Privateers left to form [[:culture:the_orphanage|]] in May 2010, which shared the same high-sec griefing methods.

Privateer Alliance officially closed its doors in 2014-11-13.
